Thinking about taking a trip to Germany for the October Fest this year.  Not sure if it would be better to take the ITT / USO trip or simply book on our own.  Anyone gone before, can you offer any advice?  Also, is it a suitable place to bring children?

I would plan myself! Just make sure you book a Hotel as soon as possible, because almost everybody will be full.
It gets VERY crowed at the Octoberfest and its a bit pricey!
I took my Daughter 2Years ago when she was 3 and it was ok! Just go in the Afternoon instead of evening/night!
